Five Reasons You’re NOT In A Relationship

You’re out mingling a few nights a week. You’re on more dating sites than you’d like to admit. You see friends in relationships and think, “Why can’t I find someone?” Here are five reasons worth considering:

1. You’re Undateable

Before meeting a new date, you check yourself out in the mirror. You should probably look a little deeper. Are you a slob? Broke? Selfish? Do you carry unchecked emotional baggage? Learn how to take better care of yourself. A bit of introspection goes a long way.

2. Your Focus Is Wrong

You care more about finding a relationship than the right person. This leads to several problems, not the least of which is the aura of desperation that surrounds you. Even worse, you might end up in an unhealthy and unfulfilling relationship.

3. You’re Not Assertive

If you want something in life, go get it. This applies to love, too. If you’re passive and don’t make the first move, you’ll never find the relationship you seek. Ask him or her out!

4. Your Eyes Are Shut

The next love of your life could be anywhere. Keep your eyes open no matter where you are, not just when you’re at the bar or checking Tinder.

5. You’re Too Picky

Standards are important, but at what point might they rule out perfectly good dating opportunities? If you spend too much time looking at someone’s shortcomings, you could miss everything that makes him or her great.
